Have you ever experienced a tunneling issue with your candle? You know, that hole that’s now surrounded by excess wax? With these tips, you’ll be able to get the most out of your candle from the first time you light it until finish and avoid tunneling nightmares for good.
Trim your wick to ¼ inch.
To have an even and safe burning candle, be sure to trim your wick ¼ inch each time before lighting. This can be done by pinching the very tip of the candle wick with two fingers.
Allow your candle to burn for a minimum of 3 hours
so that all of the wax has reached the rim of the container. This way you avoid the dreaded tunneling nightmare we mentioned before.
Do not burn your candle for longer than 4 hours.
To avoid your wick curling over or looking something like a burnt mushroom which can affect the overall lighting/burn of your candle, blow out your candle after 4 hours and let it cool and re-harden before lighting again. Make sure to trim your wick before lighting again.
Keep your candle looking fresh!
You can take a clean cloth or paper towel to wipe around the inside rim of your candle to remove melted wax residue.
Enjoy!
